In our recent time, many people are interested in participating in the politics during or when election is approaching because social media (Facebook) has made political information easy for everyone. But they do not know that that is not the real political participation because most of the political activities on social media are mere political from oppositions (Kabir, Semi-structured Interview, 2021.

Everyone is aware that Twitter has been banned in Nigeria, and to me the sole reason for this lay on the wrong political participation of Nigeria and the 2023 election is approaching which can result to a more deadly attack if there is more political propaganda via social media, most especially twitter. I can categorically say that the social media like Facebook has caused more harm than benefits to our political system in Nigeria most especially during election based on different goals of opposition parties and other political gladiators. I will employ Nigerian to watch of the kind of political participation they will get involved in. (Femi, Semi-structured Interview, 2021)

Further responses on the research objectives above also reveal some of the findings from the themes discovered:

In my own opinion, social media such as Facebook has been used to evaluate the political readiness and status of Nigerians before or during the election because the truth mixed with blasphemy gets revealed on social media to show the citizens that are participating in politics. (Wale, Semi-structured Interview, 2021).

I believe that if there will be revolution in Nigeria, it will definitely be easy through social media platforms like Facebook as we can see in the case of End SARS Protest in 2020 where social media plays a major role. (Yinka, Semi-structured Interview, 2021).

It can be concluded based on the above analysis that the influence of social media on political participation in Nigerian elections can be classified into three categories: political propaganda, high opponents' campaigns, and revolution polities. All of these categories demonstrate that social media has an impact on and influences the political participation of Nigerians during elections in the country.
